Sport in Papatoetoe is a living legacy. With historic member clubs dating back to 1894 playing alongside teams established in 2013, Kolmar is the proud home of nearly 3,000 athletes, families, and supporters.

A Blueprint for Better Local Sport

We aren’t just a sports centre; we are a pioneering community partnership. Grassroots sports often struggle with the rising costs of facility upkeep, which drives up registration fees and burns out volunteers. Kolmar was built to solve this.

By uniting 13 independent clubs at the Papatoetoe Recreation Grounds to share a single, world-class hub, we absorb the operational burden. Our clubs keep their unique identities and independence, but pool their resources. This sector-leading model ensures local sport remains affordable, sustainable, and focused exactly where it should be: on the players and the game.

The Home Ground

Built in 2011 and continuously evolving, our campus removes the barriers to both elite performance and community connection.

• The Pitches & Courts: An international-grade hockey turf, six tennis courts, two netball courts, and sprawling fields for cricket, soccer, and rugby.
• The Indoor Hub: An active Indoor Cricket Centre, pristine bowling greens, and dedicated strength training facilities.
• The Social Core: A fully licensed Bar & Bistro alongside multi-purpose function rooms designed for post-match debriefs and community celebrations.
